Nancy McCabe and Laurie Schneider In Conversation
Watermark Books & Café is excited to welcome Nancy McCabe and Laurie Schneider to discuss their books Fires Burning Underground and Gittel. Join us in-store for this event on Thursday, September 18th at 6pm. Laurie Schneider is author of Gittel, an upper middle-grade novel inspired by her family’s history in central Wisconsin. Booklist calls Gittel an "evocative novel saturated in...Jewish heritage, the importance of family, and the power of hope." Laurie studied creative writing at Oberlin College and holds a master’s degree in American Studies from Washington State University. She lives in Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to her new middle grade novel Fires Burning Underground, Nancy McCabe is the author of a young adult novel, Vaulting through Time, a new adult ghost story, Following Disasters, and several nonfiction books for adults. A Wichita native, she now lives in northwestern Pennsylvania, where she teaches writing workshops to participants of all ages.
