For more than 60 years, HumanKind Ministries has brought the community together to run Wichita’s largest holiday assistance program, Operation Holiday. More than providing basic needs and toys, Operation Holiday helps our region’s most vulnerable residents get through the year’s coldest (and most expensive) months—and shows them that their community cares.

Operation Holiday 2021 distribution will take place Wednesday, Dec. 15th through Saturday, Dec. 18th and applications will be open November 1-30 online at the link above or by phone at 316-777-6097 (Mon-Fri, 9a-4p).

Get Involved
Together with our wonderful volunteers, sponsors, and supporters, we made the holidays brighter for more than 14,000 people in 2020. If you’d like to give back to the community and support Operation Holiday as part of this special team, there are several ways to get involved, individually or as a group.

1. Host a collection drive for new or like-new kid’s coats, new kid’s winter accessories, and new or handmade blankets. Collection boxes are now available to pick up from our admin office—please call our Admin Office at 316-264-9303 between 8:30a-5p, Monday to Friday, to become an official collection site.
2. Donate a new or like-new kid’s coat, new kid’s winter accessories, or new or handmade blankets at a collection site near you. A list of collection sites will be available soon.
3. Make a monetary donation. Financial gifts help HumanKind purchase food and other items at nonprofit rates and in bulk at lower cost, and thus help more people. No gift is too small and every little bit helps.
4. Volunteer in the warehouse during preparation or distribution. Volunteer opportunities begin in November, sorting donations at our warehouse, and extend through distribution in December. Visit HumanKindWichita.org/Volunteer to learn more and sign up today.

Operation Holiday Telethon with KSN: Monday, 11/29 Wednesday, 12/1
Tune into Channel 3 at 5pm and 6pm to see some familiar faces and help us set a new fundraising record!
Stuff the Truck at Clifton Square: Thursday 12/2
Bring your family out for an evening of holiday fun as we Stuff the Truck with donations to support Operation Holiday. Suggested donations of new or like-new children’s coats or monetary donations will get you access to photos with Santa, crafts with Ana and Elsa, hot cocoa, and more.
Make a night of it by dining out at Ziggy’s Pizza or Dempsey’s Burger Pub then grab dessert and a hot drink at The No Bake Café and The Tea House, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to HK. Donors will also receive special discounts at select retailers.

Dillons Day of Giving: Saturday, 12/4
Support HK as you shop for your weekly groceries! Our teams will be at Dillons stores all over the city accepting monetary donations, new and like-new kids coats and winter accessories, blankets, and non-perishable food. Our US Marine Corps partners will also be there collecting new kids toys! Come and see us at Dillons stores at:
