WICHITA, Kan. – (September 9, 2020) Wichita State University’s ShiftSpace Gallery is looking for artist entries for Matchless Reliquary, an art show that invites the community of Wichita to enter. Students, alumni, and community members are invited to create a work not to exceed the dimensions of a standard matchbox (1.25“ x 2“). The work can be contained within the box or come out of the box in pieces that can be connected. Entrants can pick up deconstructed matchboxes for $1 at either of the drop-off locations or download a pattern on the registration page.
The deadline for signing up to submit artwork is September 15 at 5 pm and is available online at https://bit.ly/matchlessentry. The matchboxes are to be completed and dropped off on September 22. Drop-off locations are the ADCI Office on the 3rd floor of the McKnight Art Center on campus at Wichita State University or at Groover Labs, located at 334 St. Francis Avenue in Wichita, Kansas. The art show will be held October 2 through October 26 at the ShiftSpace Gallery.
Now located in Groover Labs in Old Town, ShiftSpace Gallery maintains a nomadic spirit in its newest incarnation with innovative exhibitions that explore the newest frontiers of contemporary art and design.
