A Wichita co-working space geared toward women will soon offer a new service.
The Hive is partnering with media company World Studios ICT to offer an accessible audio-video room. The room will have equipment and professional assistance for people looking to start a podcast or weekly video series.
The Hive was opened by entrepreneur Andrea Stang in April. Stang says she created the organization as both a resource space and a way for local creatives to connect and inspire each other.
Stang says she felt isolated from other creative women while working as a full-time freelance writer.
“I needed a space where I felt inspired by the decor – inspired by the other members that were there, who were interested in collaborating, lifting me up and encouraging me as an entrepreneur, especially as a woman in the professional world,” Stang says.
“I also needed spaces to record podcasts, do webinars and meet with clients one-on-one, and I was tired of meeting at coffee shops.”
Since The Hive’s opening three months ago, more than 90 people have signed up to be members, she said. The office is located on the first floor of the Orpheum Office Building in downtown Wichita.
