Sedgwick County Emergency Management will hold severe weather safety classes throughout the county.
Classes will begin Feb. 25 and run through April 11. Classes are free to residents of Sedgwick County.
The classes teach participants about the basics of severe weather safety, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, winter weather and floods.
At each class, Emergency Management officials will give away a starter disaster kit.
The class is held in conjunction with the state’s Severe Weather Awareness week, which is March 3-9. The statewide tornado drill is scheduled for March 5.
