Celebrating Muddy and other Chicago Blues

Crossroads’ April Chicago Blues feature continues with birthday salutes to the houserockin’ Hound Dog Taylor and also Lil’ Ed Williams (including a salute to his uncle, J.B. Hutto), along with music from the recent Chicago Plays the Stones album, from Benny Turner and Cash McCall’s new tribute to Chicago Blues, and in hour two, a House of Blues Radio Hour special celebrating Chicago blues from early pioneers to contemporary artists. Plus the latest from Charley Crockett , Robin Trower, Colin Linden with Luther Dickinson, and Dave Alvin with Jimmie Dale Gilmore.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
