Madeline Fox / Kansas News Service

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly on Thursday will appear on 1A, as part of the show's "Across America" project.

Kelly is expected to discuss the progress of her efforts to expand Medicaid in Kansas and to increase K-through-12 education with 1A host Joshua Johnson.

The House has passed an expansion plan and the issue is now before the Senate.

The House and Senate have passed different school funding bills.

1A Across America is a collaboration between 1A and six public media stations across the country, including KMUW.

The intent is to incorporate more local and regional voices into the national conversation leading up to the 2020 elections.

You can hear 1A weekday mornings at 9 on KMUW.
