Tonight is devoted entirely to composer Billy Strayhorn as we mark the 101st anniversary of Strayhorn's birth. We'll hear various interpretations of Strayhorn's music along with a special in the second half of the show originally broadcast last year to mark the centennial of Strayhorn's birthday.

We'll recognize World AIDS Day with music from the Red Hot series of releases, as well as from musician and activist Fred Hersch. Plus we'll celebrate the birthday of bass player and Weather Report member Jaco Pastorius.
