Global Village highlights some of the contemporary artists and recordings from the Italian neo-folk revival – from the 50th anniversary recording of Bella Ciao, the theatrical production that kicked off the revival, to new music from Vesevo, Officina Zoe, Filippo Gambetta, and Kalascima, to fusions of Italian folks with a variety of influences from Migala, and the Taranta Nera Project.

Global Village highlights some global guitars - including the flamenco inspired music of the duo of Strunz & Farah and of Spain's Niño Josele, and African guitarists Vieux Farka Toure (the son of Ali Farka Toure), S.E. Rogie - the King of Palm Wine Guitar - and Djessou Mory Kante.

Global Village remembers George Harrison on his birthday with music he did with the Beatles, on solo albums, and as a guest artist with Ravi Shankar - plus covers of his songs from Beatlejazz, Soulive, Easy Star All Stars, the Skatalites, Larry Coryell and more.

Global Village marks the birthday of baritone saxophonist Claire Daly with music she did with her own Quintet and with the quirky world-jazz ensemble TriBeCaStan. Plus more music for the February Bob Marley/Roots Reggae Revival feature including a classic roots track redone on the new Racines album from Ivory Coast’s Tiken Jah Fakoly with Jah 9. Also new music from Tinariwen and Baaba Maal, and two Juno nominees - Buffy Sainte-Marie and Lemon Bucket Orkestra.
