Megan Phelps-Roper and her sister, Grace Phelps-Roper--granddaughters of Fred Phelps--have left the Westboro Baptist Church and are apologizing for their past behavior.

Megan Phelps-Roper and her sister, Grace Phelps-Roper, left the controversial Topeka church back in November. Westboro Baptist Church has gained national attention for, among other things, picketing the funerals of gay people and of soldiers.
After being away from the church and their family for several months, Megan and Grace issued a public statement and apologyvia Megan's Twitter account Wednesday.
Megan and Grace say they're sorry for all the hurt they've caused and that they are trying to find a better way to live.
The sisters say they still love their family and have not decided what to do next. They no longer live in Topeka but still live in the Midwest.
Steve Drain, a spokesman for the church, says the sisters have rejected the Lord.
