KMUW Community Calendar

We are a group of individuals practicing cultivation of the mind. All ages and people are welcome. Each week we have a thirty minute guided meditation followed by discussion. Our topics include meditation practice and living a life of compassion and contemplation. You do not need to have any experience to join and you will be welcomed by a very loving group of individuals. This is not a religious gathering. Please join us if you could use an hour of deep relaxation!

Join us for Discovery Day 2026 at the Allen House and get the chance to explore the art, architecture, and design details of Frank Lloyd Wright. If you have never experienced Wright’s architecture before, then this event is for you!

You can explore the grounds and first floor of the home all while participating in a scavenger hunt of design details found around the home; and for your creative side, we will have stations set up on the terrace to include architectural books, LEGO's, Origami and coloring stations (all without touching, moving or opening any historical objects on the property).

Once you have a completed scavenger hunt sheet, redeem it in the gift shop for 20% off your merchandise purchases!

This is NOT a formal guided tour of the home. For a more in-depth tour about the home itself, please consider our Guided Standard Tour, Grand Tour, or Moonlight Tour.

ShowerUp: Mobile Showers And Personal Care ShowerUp serves those experiencing homelessness and anyone in need by providing mobile showers, hygiene resources, and personal care. It’s our goal to Shower Grace, Hope, and Love with everyone.

Since 2022, we have received a generous gift from the Ruth Spooner Stone Charitable Trust, INTRUST Bank to make this possible. Visit us in Downtown Wichita and EXPLORE LOCAL HISTORY in one of America’s finest museums, occupying the original City of Wichita's 1890 City Hall.

Come experience dozens of exhibits featuring thousands of artifacts illuminating our unique local history.

MakeICT is Wichita's oldest community driven Maker Space. Maker Monday is our open house event, and a great way to experience the makerspace and the maker culture in person. Come tour our shops and see our brand new facility at 5920 E. Mt. Vernon. You’ll learn all about our makerspace, tools, policies, people, and how we operate.

Our tours are free and open to the public. While you are welcome to just show up, we prefer that you register in advance so we have enough members on hand to assist with our tours. Sessions are at 7 pm and 7:30 pm.

If you wish to begin your membership at Maker Monday we will have members here to sign you up. There’s always something interesting going on at Maker Monday!
