Red’s organ style runs from the Jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Brother Jack McDuff, to Soul Jazz of Dr Lonnie Smith and Charles Earland to the greasy blues of Stanley Turrentine, Gene Ammons and the Crusaders. The Organ Trio includes Jim Pisano on saxophone and Kevin Rutschman on drums with Red on Hammond organ and vocals. He met and played with Jim and Kevin during the past year on a visit and when Walker’s Jazz Lounge opened in December he knew he had to play.
