Party for the People - Mid America All Indian Museum

On May 18, 2024, a 50th anniversary of the Keeper dedication, "Party for the People," will be hosted by the Bosin Society along City of Wichita-Government, Sedgwick County Government, Evergy and a few other sponsors. They will host a free family-friendly celebration centered around a powwow, Native performances, free museum admission, Native youth and adult art exhibits, food trucks, outdoor games and activities for kids and ending with fireworks. Five months and counting! Don't miss this event, recognizing the dedication of Wichita's most iconic landmark!

Schedule of events:

1-1:30 p.m. | Re-dedication Ceremony
1-5 p.m. | Keeper Kids Zone, Outdoor Festival, Food Trucks
1:30-5 p.m. | Native Performances: Flue - Brandon Buffalohead, Singer/Actor - AJ Harvey, Powwow Dancers - Indigenous Enterprise and more
1-8 p.m. | Wichita Wagonmasters River Tours (launching from Douglas Ave.) and Native Elders Council concessions
2-5 p.m. | Powwow - Indoors and free museum admission
4:30 | Indian Taco Sale - until gone
6-8 p.m. | Powwow - Indoors and free museum admission
9 p.m. | Fireworks Show set to Native Music to be seen from museum backgrounds
