Lloyd Foltz: Prairie Printmaker
"Lloyd Foltz: Prairie Print Maker" celebrates a self-taught artist who rose to become one of the region’s key printmakers. A native of Kansas’ Flint Hills, Foltz began his career as a commercial artist at the Western Lithograph Company in Wichita, where he worked under printmaker C.A. Seward. Although he had no formal art training beyond a three-month stint at the Art Institute of Chicago, Foltz—with Seward’s encouragement—nevertheless became a key member of the Prairie Print Makers.
"Lloyd Foltz: Prairie Print Maker" is guest curated by Barbara Thompson, granddaughter of Prairie Print Maker founder C. A. Seward. It is part of an ongoing series of exhibitions at the museum that celebrates the Prairie Print Makers and their regional and national legacy.
