Healing, Learning and Leading Workshop

Here we are in an era where many of us are quietly asking the same question: What has happened to me - and how is it shaping the way I live today? From ages 0-18, experiences - both spoken and unspoken - leave imprints. As adults, we may find ourselves wondering why certain behaviors, reactions, or event health challenges stay with us, especially the ones that no longer serve us well. Why is it sometimes so hard to shake patterns that seem to follow us into midlife and even our elder years?

Join the Healing, Learning and Leading workshop to help understand Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma. Facilitated by Dr. Linda F. Rhone, CEO & founder of Healing, Learning and Leading LLC. Her new book is "Thriving Through Trauma: A Journey to Healing."

Saturday, February 28 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

  • Learn about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Recognize how childhood trauma can shape child and adult health & behavior
  • Explore strategies for helping children and adults heal and thrive

Dr. Linda F. Rhone is an educator, scholar, and curriculum developer with over 40 years of experience serving elementary, middle, and high school students as well as undergraduate and graduate learners. She continues to develop teachers and design graduate-level curriculum in teacher education at Friends University.

Certified in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Dr. Rhone brings an educational and research-based perspective to the study of trauma and resilience. This workshop explores ACEs not from a clinical or therapeutic lens, but through educational research, professional practice, and lived experience.

Grounded in Freirean principles of dialogue, dignity, and transformation, her work invites educators, community leaders, and lifelong learners to better understand how early adversity shapes learning, relationships, and wellbeing — while also identifying pathways toward resilience and healing. Participants can expect a reflective, empowering, and transformational learning experience.
