Watermark Books & Café will host bestselling author Hampton Sides on Tuesday, July 9th at 6 pm. Hampton Sides is the best-selling author of Hellbound on His Trail, Blood and Thunder, and On Desperate Ground. He will be here to celebrate the release of his latest book, The Wide Wide Sea. The book is an epic account of the most momentous voyage of the Age of Exploration, which culminated in Captain James Cook’s death in Hawaii and left a complex and controversial legacy still debated to this day. At once a ferociously-paced story of adventure on the high seas and a searching examination of the complexities and consequences of the Age of Exploration.
