Gallery 12 Opening Reception for Printmaker/Painter Doug Billings
Opening Reception for Gallery 12 Featured Artist Doug Billings. The exhibition will include acrylic paintings, original hand-printed prints; including stone lithographs and copper plate intaglio etchings.
The works will include images of Wichita and several Kansas Geological features such as Teter Rock in Eastern Kansas and the Monument Rocks in Western Kansas. Besides two-dimensional artworks, the exhibition will include several handmade books including one dedicated to the French Philosopher/Essayist Michel de Montaigne.
The opening reception will be held on First Friday, October 1st from noon to 9 p.m. The exhibit will be on display till October 30th. Regular gallery hours are noon to 6 pm Tuesday to Saturday. Included in the exhibition will be the recent works of local fiber artist Susan deWit and ceramist Frank Martinez.
Gallery 12 was founded in 1977 and is located in downtown Wichita at 412 East Douglas. The gallery includes 22 Artist Members/Partners and over 20 3-D Consignment Artists.
