"Portals." Gallery 12's opening reception for artist member/painter Jan Butler.
The reception will be hosted on the First Friday of March the 4th from Noon to 9 pm. The show will be on view till March 26th. Normal gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 6 pm.
Artist’s Statement:
Portals are ambiguous and transitional both literally and figuratively. A door is also a metaphor for safety and security. These paintings allow the viewer a voyeuristic insight into the lives that have passed through these portals of space and time. Through imagination they allow us to live vicarious adventures from both the past and the present. It is the viewer that decides what has occurred and what will transpire in each of the paintings.
