"A Place to Call Home" benefit for Justice Together
"A Place to Call Home" is a concert to benefit Justice Together, a growing network of 42 faith organizations who have come together to build a multifaith organization with the power to "do justice" in Sedgwick County.
The Church of the Savior Chamber Choir is a community vocal ensemble known for 3 things:
1. Excellence in performing master works of sacred choral music,
2. Premiering compositions by local composers, and
3. Using each concert performance as a platform to highlight, support and benefit charitable causes and organizations.
The theme of the concert is "A Place to Call Home," which intentionally echoes and amplifies the important work of Justice Together in affordable housing and homelessness. We believe everyone in Sedgwick County should have access to affordable housing. Concert admission is free. An offering will be taken with proceeds to benefit Justice Together.
The concert will include a premier of "A Wideness: for Choir and Cello" by local composer Miriam Overholt, and works by Stephen Paulus and Kim André Arnesen.
Award-winning local singer song-writer Emily Judson will also perform an original piece.
