Sedgwick County has set up an email account to accept community input on a potential Tyson Foods project in the area.
Tyson Foods selected Sedgwick County and two other Kansas counties as possible locations for a $320 million poultry complex. It would include a chicken processing plant, a hatchery, a feed mill and a truck shop.
Questions, comments or concerns that are submitted to the county will be shared with county commissioners and the local project team. The county says there will be additional opportunities for public input.
Six people expressed concerns about the Tyson project at Wednesday’s county commission meeting.
A group called “No Tyson Sedgwick County” held its first meeting last weekend.
Feedback on the potential Tyson Foods project in Sedgwick County will be accepted at communityinput@sedgwick.gov. The county is asking participants to include their name and address in the email.
