Thursday, January 16

First issued in 1996, Marshall Crenshaw’s Miracle of Science is being re-released with bonus material this year, initiating a campaign that will see a series of albums recorded between 1994 and 2003 for the Razor and Tie label get a new lease on life. We’ll hear music from Miracle of Science as well as selections from Kingdom In My Mind, the new release from The Wood Brothers.

Friday, January 17

Listen for music from Domesticated, the 2011 release from Spirit of the Stairs as well as music from Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

Saturday, January 18

Released in 1992, Soul Asylum’s Grave Dancers Union was the band’s sixth album and its commercial breakthrough, selling more than three million copies, buoyed by the radio hits “Runaway Train” and “Black Gold.” We’ll hear music from that recording as well as selections from Pavement’s Slanted and Enchanted.

Monday, January 20

We mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day with selections from Stevie Wonder, Jackson Browne and U2.

Tuesday, January 21

Listen for music from Loaded, the 2008 release from The Wood Brothers as well as selections from Shack-Man, the 1996 LP from Medeski, Martin and Wood, featuring Chris Wood of The Wood Brothers.
