The Republican National Convention

U.S. Senator Pat Roberts took the stage at the Republican National Convention on Monday afternoon. Roberts is the chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee and says rural America is hurting due to overregulation.

Pat Roberts told those in attendance that the Obama administration is making it nearly impossible for farmers and ranchers to do their jobs. He said they feel ruled, not governed, due to overreaching regulation by the federal government.

Roberts praised Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence.

“We need a champion for rural and small-town America that will lift the yoke of regulation, and we have one: Vice President Mike Pence,” Roberts said.

Pence served on the House Agriculture Committee when he was a U.S. Representative.

Pat Roberts also attacked Hilary Clinton, saying she failed to protect two Americans killed in a 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Clinton was Secretary of State at the time.
