KDA Move Suggested By K-State

The Kansas Department of Agriculture announced last week that it would move its offices from Topeka to Manhattan. Secretary of Agriculture Dale Rodman said officials at the Kansas State University Foundation made the suggestion.

"Late last fall, the KSU Foundation and Kansas State came to us and said, 'Would you be interested in a new facility in our research park?'" Rodman said.

K-State will build the new 50,000-square-foot facility, which the university will then lease to the Agriculture Department. Rodman says the move will allow department staff and K-State researchers to work together more efficiently.
