The University of Kansas will host three meetings next month with candidates to lead the department that investigates allegations of sexual assault and discrimination.

The three candidates, who have not yet been named, will make public appearances on the KU campus and speak about their experience.

They’re candidates to head the office of Institutional Opportunity and Access, or IOA. It's responsible for helping KU comply with federal Title IX requirements, which bar discrimination based on sex. The office also investigates allegations of sexual harassment, sexual violence and discrimination, and recommends how KU should respond.

KU is one of more than 100 colleges and universities under investigation by the federal government for their handling of sexual assault allegations.
