Wichita Police Warn Residents Of Vehicle Recall Scam

Wichita police are warning residents of a scammer who is claiming to be retrieving recalled vehicles.

Police Lieutenant Dan East says the man walked into a Wichita public schools office and said he was with a local car dealership and had come to pick up a vehicle for a safety recall.

A man also walked into the American Red Cross offices in Wichita with a similar story.

Police say manufacturers will contact vehicle owners directly about recalls.
