Republicans Keep Kansas’ Open Senate Seat By Electing Roger Marshall

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas — Kansas Republican U.S. Rep. Roger Marshall is moving up to the U.S. Senate after surviving a challenge from Democrat Barbara Bollier in Tuesday’s election.

The 60-year-old two-term congressman from Great Bend will succeed Republican Pat Roberts, who is retiring after nearly 40 years in Congress. Marshall’s win also keeps intact Republicans’ winning streak in Kansas U.S. Senate races, a streak that dates back to 1938.

Michael O'Donnell Announces He'll Step Down If Reelected To Sedgwick County Commission

This will likely be the last term for Sedgwick County Commissioner Michael O’Donnell.

He announced on social media Saturday that he will not accept a second term representing the 2nd District should he be reelected Tuesday. He did not resign from his current term, which ends in January.

Kansas is expecting record voter turnout in the 2020 general election.

If you haven't voted yet but still want to, here's how you can still cast your ballot in Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Cowley and Sumner counties.

Advance ballot. If you received a mail-in ballot but have yet to return it, your safest bet is to deliver it in person at a polling location (during voting hours) or at one of the ballot drop boxes shown on the map below.
