Wichita City Councilman James Clendenin Seeking Re-Election

Wichita.gov

Wichita City Councilman James Clendenin has announced his re-election bid for the 3rd District seat.

Clendenin filed his paperwork with the Sedgwick County Elections office Monday. In a statement, the councilman says he wants to build on the progress he’s made in the district, which covers areas of south and southeast Wichita, and continue efforts to increase neighborhood safety and quality of life.

Clendenin was elected to a partial term on the council in 2011. He was elected to his first full term in 2013.

The only other candidate to file in the 3rd district so far is self-described author and activist William Stofer. The District 1 and District 6 seats are also up for election this year.

The filing deadline for City Council is June 1.
