What's Open, What's Closed On President's Day

Gilber Stuart, Library of Congress

Before you head out tomorrow to try to see the new Gordon Parks exhibit at the Wichita Art Museum, remember: Many city and county facilities will be closed Monday in observance of President’s Day.

The following City of Wichita facilities and operations will be closed Monday:

  • City Hall;
  • Neighborhood resource centers;
  • Wichita Public Library locations;
  • Park and Recreation centers;
  • Great Plains Nature Center;
  • OJ Watson Park;
  • Old Cowtown Museum;
  • Mid-America All-Indian Center;
  • Century II administrative offices;
  • Transit administrative offices;
  • Wichita Art Museum;
  • and Botanica.

Wichita Transit will not operate Monday. The city animal shelter will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and City Arts will be open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Riverside Tennis Center and municipal golf courses are open regular hours—so save the museums for another day and take Monday to work on your serve.
All Sedgwick County offices will be closed Monday, but Emergency Services will still be available.
