Three Wichita organizations were awarded funds to advance local public safety initiatives.
- Episcopal Social Services, $59,776 to provide evidence-based training programs for adults with mental illness who are at risk for incarceration.
- Via Christi Hospitals, $166,636 to provide forensic nursing services for victims of sexual assault.
- Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, $23,970 to support hotline advocates who assist survivors who call the organization’s 24-hour hotline and respond to local hospitals.
In a news release announcing the awards, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said the grants will help advance local priorities for improving public safety.
