Wikipedia

Southwest Airlines is making changes to its nonstop services out of Wichita Eisenhower National Airport.

Starting April 12, 2016, Southwest Airlines will no longer offer nonstop service to Dallas or Chicago. The company is instead adding nonstop flights to St. Louis and Phoenix.

Officials with the airline say the change is in response to shifting travel patterns, and that St. Louis and Phoenix will offer affordable connecting flights to over 80 cities.

St. Louis will open up nonstop flights to Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Newark, Baltimore, Washington National, Orlando, Nashville, San Antonio and others.

Phoenix will open up nonstop flights to Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ontario, Portland and others.

“The new routes will expand options for customers in Wichita to get to popular destinations,” Southwest spokesman Dan Landson said in a release. “These new destinations connect our customers to the people and places that are important to them with minimal travel time and fewer stops.”

Southwest says convenient flights will still be available to Chicago and Dallas.

American Airlines still offers nonstop service to both cities from of Wichita.
