Part of this year's Senior Expo will take place at the new Advanced Learning Library.

The Senior Expo, a trade show for senior citizens, is set for Thursday.

The event offers seniors and caregivers health and wellness information, access to health screenings and more. Any adult 55 or older is invited to the free event.

The various health resources are spread across three locations — Botanica, the Wichita Art Museum and the new Advanced Learning Library. Free transportation between the three locations will be provided. Each location will include about 40 vendors.

The event typically draws around 3,000 seniors and caregivers, said Monica Cissell with the Sedgwick County Division on Aging. She said the information about local resources and free admission to local attractions makes it worthwhile for any senior.

“They get to go visit the gardens, they get to go through the art museum, they get to go into the library and see the new opportunities there,” Cissell said.

Senior Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cissell said it will be a mix of education and fun.

“Anybody who is newly retired, or looking at retiring and wants to look at what option are available for them once they do that,” she said. “I think this is a great opportunity for them to explore what those options are.”
