The Sedgwick County Fair this week will include the Ranch Rodeo on Thursday night.

The Sedgwick County Fair will celebrate its 75th anniversary this week.

The fair will run from Wednesday through Sunday at the county fairgrounds in Cheney, west of Wichita.

The fair will include concerts by local acts Twist of Fate, the Adam Capps Band, the Kyle Killgore Band, the Jason Boyd Band and Lucky People.

“There are lots of traditional things, but with kind of a modern twist on some of it,” said fair official Marti Johnson. “We like to focus a lot on local music acts, so there’s a free concert every night.”

Other highlights include the Ranch Rodeo on Thursday night, the Demolition Derby on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as other fair attractions such as carnival rides, a petting zoo and the 4-H show.

“There’s lots of things for all ages,” Johnson said. “Particularly little kids because there’s all the farm animals.

"The 4-H show is part of the fair so you got all the 4-H kids out there, and they’ve got all of their very cool animals: chickens, puppies, pigs, bunnies, cows.”

Admission to the fair is free.
