Remembering The Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin

Sunday, September 8

It's been just over a year since the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, died. Since her death, a posthumous Pulitzer Prize was awarded in 2019. The gospel film Amazing Grace, featuring segments of her 1972 performance at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, was released. Her hometown of Detroit, Michigan, recently named a stretch of Lodge highway the Aretha Franklin Memorial Highway, and an Aretha biopic is reportedly in the works.

Join us at 6 p.m. for an encore presentation of Soulsations' Aretha Franklin remembrance, featuring reflections from the community about the legendary singer.
