Here's your chance to immerse yourself in extreme, real-world weather conditions.
Fly through a hurricane, swirl along a tornado’s path, map lightning strikes or stand in the middle of a raging winter storm.
Wild Weather, a national traveling exhibit, arrives at Exploration Place on Saturday. Throughout the exhibit, participants can learn about different types of weather conditions. They also can go behind the scenes with meteorologists and learn about the science of severe weather.
Christina Bluml, the director of marketing and communications for Exploration Place, said this is a hands-on exhibit for people of all ages. She said young children can enjoy videos of hurricanes and tornadoes and other visuals.
Bluml said the exhibit's goal is to inform participants about weather and prepare them for extreme situations.
“It’s a great way to share different information and facts about severe weather that people may not know, especially if it’s weather that doesn’t happen in your neighborhood,” Bluml said.
The exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It runs through Jan. 5.
The exhibit is free to Exploration Place members.
