Fifteen more early voting sites open today around Sedgwick County before next week’s local general election.
Registered voters can cast their advance ballots at any of the sites, or at the Sedgwick County Election Office in downtown Wichita.

Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman told county commissioners Wednesday that voter turnout so far has been “small but good.”
“Our ballot-by-mail numbers are right on target for what we would expect for this election, but our early vote numbers are actually stronger than what we’ve seen either in ’13 or in ’15 in office," she said. "So we are excited to see those number are up.”
Close to 400 early votes have been cast so far, with less than a week to go before the election on Nov. 7. In a similar local election in 2013, that number was just 82.
This is the first year that local elections have been held in the fall.
Advance voting sites are open from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
