Friday, May 15 and Sunday, May 17

Crossroads continues the May feature celebrating the 90th birthday of blues harmonica legend Little Walter, including music he did with Muddy Waters and from a Walter tribute album by harmonic player Billy Branch. Plus more Blues Music Awards winners, and a birthday salute to blues great Taj Mahal, including some of his classic tracks, a special in hour two, and also the latest from the Phantom Blues Band, Taj Mahal’s former backup band.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
