Little Walter, BMA Winners And Rick Estrin

Friday, May 22 and Sunday, May 24

In conjunction with the May Little Walter and Blues Music Awards feature, Crossroads highlights music this time from harmonica player and one of this year’s BMA winners, Rick Estrin. We’ll hear him with Little Charlie, the Nightcats, and Frank Bey in hour one, and in a special in hour two of the show. We’ll also hear music from Little Walter and from a tribute album that included harmonica player Sugar Ray Norcia. Also on tap, a classic from Koko Taylor and new music from guitarists Joanna Connor and Cindy Cashdollar.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
