A Final Fling with Johnny & Shemekia Copeland

Friday, April 24 and Sunday, April 26

Crossroads wraps up the April feature with music from Johnny Copeland (including a track with special guest Stevie Ray Vaughan) and daughter Shemekia Copeland (including music from her Dr. John-produced Talking to Strangers album, as a guest on the latest release from the Cash Box Kings, and in hour two in a special done right after her most recent and finest album to date, America’s Child).

We’ll also hear music from Eddie Hinton and Little Charlie & the Nightcats, and the latest from Roomful of Blues, Popa Chubby, the Jimmys, and the 11 Guys Quartet.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
