Advanced voting continues in Sedgwick County, with early voting centers opening this week. Voters will determine which candidate will fill the seat in Kansas’ 4th Congressional District race.

Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman says early voting centers will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday before next week’s special election.

Lehman says all 15 sites will be open each day – with the exception of the Machinist Union building on South Meridian, which will be closed on Saturday due to a scheduling conflict.

People can vote at any one of the 15 sites including in Wichita, Haysville and Valley Center. On Monday, April 10, Lehman says the Sedgwick County Election office in downtown Wichita will be open for early voting from 8 a.m. to noon.

She says this is a fairly simple election.

"There are only three candidates this election so it should be fairly easy for people to do their research and determine who they will want to vote for," Lehman says. There will be a write-in line. If you don’t like any of them, you can write somebody in.

The special election will be held on April 11.

A PDF containing information about the early voting election sites has been provided by the Sedgwick County Election Office here.
