Easter Sunday On Soulsations

Courtesy Karew Entertainment

Sunday, April 4

It's an hour of uplifting gospel music this Sunday during Easter weekend. Hear inspirational tunes from CeCe Winans, Walter Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, The Whispers, Rev. Milton Brunson with the Thompson Community Singers, and Wichita's own Shekinah Gospel Singers. L'Tanya Moore shares how she came to record the Easter song "He Decided to Die'' and Dorinda Clark-Cole talks about co-writing "He Can" from The Clark Sisters' latest album The Return. Plus, this week's DoubleTake features the classic "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" by the godfather of contemporary gospel music Andrae Crouch and covered by Smokie Norful featuring the 12th District AME Church Choir.

Carla Eckels is Director of Organizational Culture at KMUW. She produces and hosts the R&B and gospel show Soulsations and brings stories of race and culture to The Range with the monthly segment In the Mix. Carla was inducted into The Kansas African American Museum's Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020 for her work in broadcast/journalism.
