Inspired by singer-songwriters such as James Taylor and John Mayer, Neal Morse’s Life & Times touches on a variety of lyrical topics from a veteran’s suicide (“He Died At Home”) to time spent with loved ones (“Livin’ Lightly”). We’ll hear selections from that release as well as music from Joe Satriani’s What Happens Next.

Friday, January 11

Listen for music from Kamasi Washington’s Heaven and Earth as well as David Lord’s Forest Standards Vol.1.

Saturday, January 12

Released in 1987 David Bowie’s Never Let Me Down was revamped in 2018 with help from former collaborators including David Torn and Reeves Gabrels. We’ll hear selections from that release as well as from Prince’s Piano and A Microphone 1983.

Monday, January 14

We’ll hear selections from Shane Marler’s 2018 LP One Stop plus music by Gooding from Building The Sun.

Tuesday, January 15

Listen for music from Lake Street Dive’s Free Yourself Up as well as Brian Belknap’s In Lieu Of Flowers.

We’ll feature music from David Crosby’s 2018 set Here If You Listen plus Inara George’s Dearest Everybody.

Listen for selections from Carrie Nation and The Speakeasy’s Gnosis as well as Pretend Friend’s 2018 self-titled release.
