Blues Siblings & Albert King

Friday, April 23 and Sunday, April 25

Crossroads continues the April Blues Siblings feature with music from the Holmes Brothers, Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, Syl and Jimmy Johnson, Lurrie Bell & the Bell Dynasty, and in hour two, a concert with the Kimbrough Brothers – the sons of Hill Country bluesman Junior Kimbrough.

We’ll also mark the birthday of blues great Albert King with some of his classic tracks, including a selection from his classic Born Under a Bad Sign album that was just inducted into the National Recording Registry.

And there’s new music from Kat Riggins, Chris Cain, Kevin Burt, and Damon Fowler.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
