Best Of 2020 – Public Domain, Hall Of Fame & Show Favorites + Birthdays

Friday, January 29, and Sunday, January 31

Crossroads wraps up the January feature looking back at the blues music of the past year with recordings induced into the Grammy Hall of Fame (Stevie Ray Vaughan), nominated for Grammys (North Mississippi Allstars), and show favorites (Rory Block, Nora Jean Wallace).

Crossroads also marks birthdays of Chicago bluesman Eddie Taylor, pianist Roosevelt Sykes, harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite (featured on 2020 releases with Elvin Bishop and with the New Moon Jelly Roll Freedom Rockers), and soul comeback legend Bettye LaVette (including in a concert special in hour two).

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
