An Artist's Perspective: Keep An Eye On Emerging Artists

The Art and Design Advocates is a Wichita group that supports the WSU School of Art, Design, and Creative Industries and its students by providing funding for special needs, travel, and opportunities not financed through state or municipal funding. These funds help to enhance excellence within the art and design program.

These advocates are sponsoring another WSU Emerging Artist Show this year that promises to be very exciting.

The faculty has nominated the brightest students who have worked exceedingly hard to create and then exhibit their finest works this year. The work will be judged by Wichita sculptor Constance Ernatt and cash prizes will be awarded. The exhibit allows these extremely talented students a chance to show their work in its best light and to interact professionally with the viewing public. It also allows the public to view a fabulous variety of works, many of which have been rendered with new and fascinating techniques.

It’s important to know that this show is a one-night-only event. It will take place on Saturday, March 2nd, from 7-9 pm at the McKnight Art Center on the WSU Campus.

KMUW is a media sponsor for this event.
