Allegiant Air will provide nonstop service between Wichita and Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Wichita airport officials made the announcement Tuesday. They said service will be seasonal and operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June to late August.
Destin/Fort Walton Beach is in the Florida Panhandle. It is known for its beaches, fishing spots, resorts and parks.
Destin/Fort Walton Beach will become the fifth airport that Allegiant flies to from Wichita. Allegiant flies year-round to Las Vegas and Phoenix, and seasonally to Los Angeles and Orlando, Florida. Allegiant is offering one-way fares as low as $59 to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, as long as the flight is purchased by Feb. 13.
Allegiant is the only airline at Wichita’s Eisenhower Airport that offers nonstop service to Florida.
