Albert Collins, Texas Blues & New Releases

Friday, October 25 and Sunday, October 27

Crossroads wraps up the October Albert Collins feature with more classic tracks from throughout his career, plus music from other Texas blues artists, from pioneering players like T Bone Walker to contemporary stars like Marcia Ball, and the latest releases from Jimmie Vaughan and Delbert McClinton.

Also on tap, new music from Vaneese Thomas (daughter of R&B legend Rufus Thomas), Billy Branch (with a tribute to blues harmonica legend Little Walter), rising star of the Chicago blues scene Toronzo Cannon, and blues wise guys Rick Estrin & the Nightcats.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
