The 13th annual Symphony in the Flint Hills event will take place Saturday in Butler County.

The one-day event is organized to educate people about the importance of appreciating and protecting the tallgrass prairie landscape. About 7,000 guests attend each year to enjoy barbecue, art and educational sessions throughout the afternoon before the concert. The Kansas City Symphony performs at sunset.

This year’s event will be held at Rosalia Ranch, about 15 miles east of El Dorado. It also was the site of the 2014 symphony.

Some area Girl Scouts stopped by KMUW recently to participate in the Radio Day program. They spent some time in our studios recording their Thanksgiving memories.

Here's a sample from their day...

We think they did a great job and should wear their Radio Day badges proudly.
