Night Train continues with more music from March featured artists Clark Terry (this time with Duke Ellington) and Charles Lloyd, and begins a week-long tribute to trumpeter Lew Soloff. Plus birthday salutes to coronetist Ruby Braff, bassist Brian Torff, and ‘the poet of the piano’ Tommy Flanagan – including a Jazz Profiles special about his life and music in hour two of the show.

Tuesday, March 17

Night Train will be wearing the green – or at least green tunes – to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – with ‘green’ songs, ‘green’ artists, and music and musicians of Irish descent. Plus birthday salutes to pianist Jessica Williams and the legendary Nat King Cole; more from March featured artists Charles Lloyd and Clark Terry, and for Night Train’s week-long remembrance of trumpeter Lew Soloff.

Wednesday, March 18

Night Train highlights more music from March featured artists Clark Terry (with Oscar Peterson) and Charles Lloyd (with Cannonball Adderley), and continues with this week’s tribute to trumpeter Lew Soloff (with the Manhattan Jazz Quintet), who passed away earlier this month. Plus birthday salutes to vibes player Joe Locke, steel drum player Andy Narell, and guitarist Bill Frisell- including a performance from Frisell at the Savannah Music Festival in hour two of the show.

Thursday, March 19

Night Train marks birthdays of three talented pianists – Eliane Elias, Lennie Tristano and Mike Longo; continues with more music from March featured artists Charles Lloyd and Clark Terry; wraps up a week-long tribute to trumpeter Lew Soloff; and highlights new music from Joe Sample, Gov’t Mule with John Scofield, Allan Harris, and Jamie Dubberly’s Orquesta Dharma.
