Cole was sent more than 120 Latin songs to consider from record producer Rudy Perez, who is president of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame. The album title is reminiscent of her famous father Nat King Cole's "Cole Espanol," which brought him love and recognition in Spanish-speaking countries.
