Nearly 4,000 Sedgwick County Residents Are Incomplete Voter Registrants

The primary election will be held on Tuesday and nearly 4,000 Sedgwick County residents are still considered incomplete registrants. People who filled out registration forms and have not provided proof of citizenship need to send in a copy of a birth certificate, passport or other document in order to vote.

Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman says if potential new voters fax or e-mail their birth certificates in to the election office by 11:59 tonight -- providing proof of their U.S. citizenship-- they will be allowed to cast a ballot.

“They can vote provisionally," she says. "Then we’ll recommend that the complete ballot be counted because, if they’ve provided the proof by 11:59 tonight (Monday,) they would be an eligible voter. Otherwise, if they used a federal form to register, then we would be recommending just the federal offices be counted at canvassing.”

Polls will be open on Tuesday in Wichita from 6am to 7pm.
